Thursday 19 to Saturday 21 March & Thursday 26 to Saturday 28 March

Anthony Power, chef and co-founder of Liverpool restaurant Pilgrim, is returning home to Melbourne to hold a seven-course tasting event in collaboration with Paolo Arlotta of Herbivorous Nights. Taking place over the last two weekends of March, the tasting journey will be inspired by the ancient pilgrimage across Spain called Camino de Santiago.

Diners will be taken on a gastronomic journey from Rome to Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, northwest Spain, to be matched with cocktails and non-alcoholic elixirs concocted by Orlando Marzo who was crowned the Worlds’ Best Bartender in 2018. Wine sommelier and guru Liinaa Berry will be curating a bespoke wine pairing to suit the diverse menu.

After working in restaurants across Australia, Canada, Mexico, New Zealand and London, Power took part in the Netflix hit series Million Pound Menu. Power and his team’s concept for Pilgrim, a venue comprising ethically sourced, regional produce with a focus on fire-cooked flavour, succeeded in receiving significant investment to open the restaurant. Since opening in May 2019, Pilgrim has garnered an abundance of rave reviews.

Power says, “I am incredibly excited to be coming back to my hometown of Melbourne for this event, and getting to work alongside such talented crew in Paolo, Orlando and Liinaa will be amazing. This is going to be a very special series of dinners with some fantastic food, cocktails and wine and I cannot wait to bring the Pilgrim experience to Melbourne at Young Bloods Diner”.
